Senior Materials Coordinator

Role overview

Planning and team leadership

• Develop material plans aligned with project schedules; forecast and prioritize needs with project managers and stakeholders.
• Monitor availability, adjust plans as project priorities change, and coordinate timely delivery across project locations.
• Lead and supervise material coordinators, provide coaching and technical support, deliver training, and address team performance.

Procurement, inventory and logistics

• Coordinate with procurement on sourcing against project specifications and budgets; resolve vendor delivery and quality challenges.
• Monitor inventory and oversee warehouse storage, handling, retrieval and distribution; coordinate checks, reconciliation and audits.
• Maintain traceability and inventory accuracy across projects.
• Plan site transportation and delivery, ensure HSE and transport compliance, resolve bottlenecks and optimize material flow.

Quality and reporting

• Work with QA/QC teams to verify quality, maintain certifications and inspection records, and resolve material non-conformities.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, industry standards and client requirements.
• Prepare material, inventory, procurement and logistics reports; maintain records and provide management insights.

Experience and education

• Minimum 6–8 years in material control, logistics or supply-chain operations, preferably in oil and gas.
• Experience in complex multi-project EPC environments and familiarity with civil, marine, power and industrial plant sectors.
• Experience leading material coordination teams and managing multiple stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Logistics or a related field.
• Professional Supply Chain certification such as APICS, CPIM or CSCP; HSE certification in logistics, warehousing or material handling is preferred.

Skills and competencies

• Advanced material planning, logistics, inventory management and warehouse operations knowledge.
• Proficiency in material management systems and ERP platforms, particularly Oracle ERP.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, vendor management, stakeholder coordination, communication and reporting skills.
• Understanding of HSE rules for material handling, transportation and storage; ability to manage multiple project priorities under demanding schedules.
