Responsibilities
- Perform basic and detailed design engineering and review and prepare engineering documents and drawings.
- Prepare electrical design basis reports, MV/LV single-line diagrams, and plant electrical load lists.
- Prepare sizing calculations for transformers, generators, APFC, cables, UPS, and DC systems; prepare equipment general arrangements.
- Perform ETAP load-flow and short-circuit calculations, earthing and lightning calculations, and lighting and small-power design.
- Review vendor data and prepare specifications, datasheets, layouts, and bills of quantities for electrical equipment.
- Prepare hazardous-area classifications and electrical, cable-routing, earthing, lightning, and lighting drawings.
- Review systems including DCS, PLC, ESD, fire and gas, security, communications, monitoring, and substation automation.
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, process, and HVAC teams and packaged-equipment providers.
- Review 3D models.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Chartered Engineer, SOE certified, or equivalent.
- At least 15 years of electrical and I&C experience, including relevant water and wastewater treatment plant and pumping station experience.
- Engineering consultancy experience is required.
- Excellent English communication and client-facing skills.
- Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, ISA, NEC, and ATEX codes and standards, plus utility-client standards in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, and Qatar.
- Knowledge of MV/LV distribution, substations, switchgear, MCCs, VFD panels, transformers, generators, UPS, and DC systems.
- Knowledge of ETAP-based electrical studies, including load flow, short circuit, motor starting, arc flash, and protection coordination.
- Knowledge of instrumentation, control and safety systems, security systems, communications networks, condition monitoring, HAZOP/CHAZOP, and SIL studies.
