Opportunity

Based in Abu Dhabi, this hands-on, multi-site role ensures consistent, auditable physical security across the data centre portfolio.

The role covers operational delivery, technical security systems, and documentation and assurance.

The specialist owns the physical security document set and electronic security systems and holds landlords and guarding vendors to their obligations.

The role is expected to be visible on site, understand how security systems work and maintain audit-ready documentation.

Security operations

  • Own physical security delivery across sites and shifts, ensuring consistent execution of SOPs and post orders.
  • Act as senior operational escalation point, make practical decisions, inspect security controls and guard practices, and close corrective actions.
  • Plan coverage for deliveries, contractor works, customer visits, equipment moves and change windows; deputize for the Director on operational matters when required.
  • Coordinate with data centre operations, facilities, IT security and reception, and act as day-to-day contact for landlords, guarding vendors and contractors.

Documentation and assurance

  • Own and control policies, standards, SOPs, post orders, work instructions, forms and templates, including document ownership, version, approval and review records.
  • Review documents at least annually and after significant incidents, audit findings, regulatory changes or operational changes; retire obsolete or duplicate documents.
  • Maintain traceability to NIST SP 800-53 PE family, ISO/IEC 27001 Annex A physical controls and applicable UAE requirements.
  • Keep audit evidence current, coordinate internal, customer and certification audits, close findings, and brief site teams on document changes.

Guarding vendors and electronic systems

  • Manage guarding vendor delivery against contracts, post orders and KPIs; approve compliant coverage schedules and ensure training, induction and refresher programmes.
  • Enforce UAE guard licensing requirements and escalate contractual issues or underperformance as appropriate.
  • Own operations for access control, video management/CCTV, intrusion detection and alarm monitoring; review and approve controlled configuration changes.
  • Run access reviews and recertification, process joiner, mover and leaver changes, investigate repeat alarms, and test door hardware, camera coverage and video retention.
  • Own operational KPIs and lead improvements to simplify, standardize or automate security processes across sites.

Required qualifications and experience

  • At least 7 years of physical security experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or assistant manager role.
  • Proven experience writing, maintaining and controlling security policies, SOPs and post orders, including formal review cycles.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise access control and video management systems in a critical environment.
  • Experience supporting audits against recognized standards such as ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2 or NIST SP 800-53, and managing outsourced guarding contracts against SLAs and KPIs.
  • Strong knowledge of access control, video management, document control, physical security frameworks and guard force deployment and procedures.
  • Required qualities include attention to detail, systems thinking, ownership, hands-on leadership, decisiveness, accountability and clear communication.

Preferred qualifications

  • A diploma or degree in security management, risk management, electronic engineering or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • Experience in a data centre or other critical infrastructure environment is strongly preferred.

Compensation and benefits

  • The employer advertises a competitive salary package based on skills and experience and a performance-based annual bonus.
  • Benefits include Esaad and Fazaa discount cards, family health coverage including dental, vision and life insurance, and learning and development access.
