Role overview

Candidate requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or recognized qualification in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Medical Imaging, Radiography, or a related discipline.
• Postgraduate Diagnostic Ultrasound qualification where required.
• Valid DHA Sonographer licence or DHA Eligibility Letter, or eligibility to obtain one.
• At least 2–3 years of relevant post-qualification sonography experience.
• Previous experience in a hospital, imaging centre, private clinic, or specialist healthcare facility.
• Practical experience across ultrasound examinations and knowledge of equipment, imaging protocols, and diagnostic procedures.
• Knowledge of patient safety, infection control, and clinical governance.
• Strong communication, patient reassurance, image quality, attention to detail, and independent and collaborative working skills.

Preferred clinical experience

• Experience in abdominal, pelvic, renal and urinary tract, thyroid, breast, musculoskeletal, vascular/Doppler, small-parts, obstetric and gynecological, or general diagnostic ultrasound is highly desirable.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to clinical protocols and obtain high-quality images for interpretation.
• Review patient history, prepare patients, and explain procedures before imaging.
• Identify abnormalities and record appropriate images and measurements.
• Coordinate with radiologists and referring physicians.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and imaging records.
• Use and maintain ultrasound equipment safely; follow DHA, facility, and international standards.
• Protect patient confidentiality and provide professional, compassionate care.

Salary and benefits

• Salary budget is AED 10,000–15,000 per month, plus medical benefits, visa, and bonus.
