Build and enhance backend platforms powering critical financial services workflows in a regulated environment.
Work in a collaborative engineering team to turn business requirements into secure, scalable, and reliable systems.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based backend services and APIs.
- Build and enhance microservices using Spring Boot and modern Java.
- Translate business and product requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Develop RESTful APIs and integrate internal and external systems.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to code reviews.
- Improve application performance, reliability, security, and scalability.
- Work with relational databases, messaging systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot production issues and support continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with product, QA, business analysts, and senior engineers.
Core qualifications
- Strong commercial experience with Java; Java 17+ is preferred.
- Solid hands-on experience with Spring or Spring Boot and microservices.
- Experience building REST APIs and backend integrations.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and clean coding practices.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
- Familiarity with Git, automated testing, CI/CD, and Agile delivery.
- Good problem-solving skills and a pragmatic, ownership-driven mindset.
Domain experience
- Financial services, banking, payments, fintech, or other regulated-industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Exposure to trading, payments, risk, treasury, lending, or post-trade platforms.
Nice to have
- Kafka or other event-driven or messaging technologies.
- Docker and Kubernetes.
- Cloud experience, particularly AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Performance tuning, JVM diagnostics, or high-volume transactional systems experience.
