Site Engineer - Infrastructure

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily infrastructure construction activities in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
• Ensure works are performed safely and efficiently and comply with quality standards and project specifications.
• Review construction drawings, shop drawings, specifications, method statements, and technical documents before work starts.
• Supervise roads, pavements, drainage and utility networks, earthworks, kerbstones, and associated civil works.
• Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, surveyors, suppliers, and site teams; monitor progress against the approved schedule.
• Conduct inspections and coordinate setting-out and levels with survey teams; verify approved coordinates, levels, and alignments.
• Supervise excavation, backfilling, compaction, grading, trenching, pipe laying, road works, and related activities.
• Coordinate material inspections, testing, approvals, and site inspections; ensure only approved materials are incorporated.
• Identify site issues, technical constraints, and potential delays and coordinate resolution.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and availability of manpower, materials, equipment, and other resources.
• Maintain daily site records, progress reports, inspection requests, and project documentation; coordinate with QA/QC and HSE teams.
• Liaise with consultants, Dubai authorities, utility providers, and stakeholders; participate in meetings, progress reviews, snagging, testing, commissioning, and handover; guide site teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in infrastructure construction projects.
• Minimum 3–5 years of UAE infrastructure construction experience is preferred.
• Proven experience in roads, drainage, utilities, earthworks, pavements, kerbstones, and associated infrastructure works.
• Strong knowledge of UAE construction standards, specifications, and relevant authority requirements.
• Experience working with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, utility providers, and relevant UAE authorities.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, specifications, method statements, and technical documentation.
• Good understanding of surveying, levels, setting-out, excavation, backfilling, compaction, and civil infrastructure construction practices.
• Experience with IRs, MIRs, testing, and quality documentation; strong understanding of HSE and safe site practices.
• Good communication, coordination, problem-solving, and site supervision skills.
• Previous experience on major infrastructure or large-scale UAE development projects is preferred.
