The Senior HSE Officer will implement, monitor, and ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures throughout construction phases.
The role is part of the onsite HSE team at Burj Azizi in Dubai.
The project requires compliance with approved HSE plans, UAE regulatory requirements, and applicable safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor project HSE policies, procedures, and safety plans.
- Ensure construction activities comply with UAE HSE regulations, Dubai Municipality requirements, and applicable safety standards.
- Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments; ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Review risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses, method statements, and Permit-to-Work documentation.
- Monitor work at height, lifting, scaffolding, temporary works, and other high-rise construction activities.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, prepare reports, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct inductions, toolbox talks, and HSE awareness sessions; monitor subcontractor HSE performance.
- Maintain HSE records and coordinate with project stakeholders and authorities.
- Track corrective actions, support emergency preparedness and drills, and promote safety culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering or a related discipline.
- At least five years of construction HSE experience and mandatory UAE construction experience.
- Mandatory experience on high-rise tower construction projects exceeding 50 floors.
- NEBOSH certification is mandatory; IOSH certification is an advantage.
- Knowledge of UAE construction safety regulations, Dubai Municipality requirements, site inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and HSE audits.
- Ability to review method statements, risk assessments, and HSE documentation; strong communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
