Role overview
Shop assistant role in a food and beverage setting, serving customers and supporting day-to-day service.
Key duties
- Advise customers on menu, product, and patisserie selections; describe menu items and answer questions.
- Greet patrons, present menus, make recommendations, take orders, and relay them to kitchen and bar staff.
- Serve food and beverages; present bills and accept cash, credit-card, and debit-card payments.
- Order and maintain chiller and non-chiller inventory.
- Address customer complaints and assist guests with special needs.
- Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs; balance cash and record sales.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience as a waiter and directly related experience in a full-service concept.
- Well-developed English communication, customer-service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate a cash register, including debit and credit transactions.
- Knowledge of food and beverage products, techniques, practices, preparation, and presentation.
- Understanding of food and beverage health and hygiene standards.
Pay
- AED 1,500–2,500 per month.
