Senior Technical Engineer (Fit-Out Manufacturing)

Job purpose

Technical coordination and delivery

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, BOQs, and project requirements for design-intent and manufacturing compliance.
• Coordinate shop drawings, fabrication drawings, technical details, and material submittals through preparation, review, and approval.
• Ensure drawings are suitable for manufacturing, assembly, installation, and site execution.
• Coordinate with design, BIM, production, procurement, and site teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Review joinery, interior finishes, materials, hardware, fixtures, fittings, and construction methods.
• Guide teams on fabrication methods, material compatibility, dimensions, tolerances, and installation requirements.
• Identify clashes, technical constraints, and manufacturing issues; recommend practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Coordinate clarifications, RFIs, and design modifications with consultants, clients, project managers, and other stakeholders.

Quality, documentation, and project support

• Keep technical documentation aligned with approved drawings, specifications, and project standards.
• Review material samples, datasheets, and product specifications for compliance.
• Support value engineering to improve manufacturability, material use, cost, and quality.
• Monitor technical progress and submission deadlines for drawings, approvals, and engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate with QA/QC to ensure manufactured components meet approved drawings and project specifications.
• Help production teams resolve fabrication issues, dimensional discrepancies, and technical challenges.
• Assess design-change impacts on production schedules, material requirements, and project costs.
• Maintain technical records, drawing registers, revision histories, and approval documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements, company procedures, and project quality standards.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in fit-out, interior contracting, joinery, or manufacturing-related engineering.
• Relevant UAE or GCC experience is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of fit-out manufacturing, joinery, interior finishes, fabrication drawings, and installation methods.
• Proven experience reviewing technical drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, and project specifications.
• Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and identify technical discrepancies.
• Experience coordinating with design, BIM, production, procurement, and site teams.

Technical skills and capabilities

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; familiarity with Revit, BIM tools, or other relevant design software is an advantage.
• Knowledge of material specifications, manufacturing tolerances, quality requirements, and value engineering.
• Strong technical problem-solving, analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple technical deliverables and meet project deadlines.
