Senior Site Reliability Engineer Specialist

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Support application incidents according to SLAs and escalation procedures; operate and monitor Elastic Stack components deployed via ECK on OKE.
• Handle Elasticsearch index and snapshot lifecycle management, data-tier housekeeping, and capacity monitoring; troubleshoot telemetry ingestion for logs, metrics, traces, and synthetic monitors.
• Maintain Kibana dashboards, alerting rules, and saved objects; perform root-cause analysis and join blameless post-incident reviews.
• Collaborate on automation, deployment pipelines, and observability improvements using Terraform, Helm charts, and scripting.
• Maintain support documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles; manage incidents and requests through the ticketing system and document resolutions.
• Join an on-call rotation, reduce operational toil, report MTTD and MTTR, and collaborate with teams and vendors to improve reliability, observability, and security.

Job requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years in IT operations, system administration, application support, DevOps, or SRE.
• Familiarity with Elastic Stack observability tools, including basic querying and dashboard use.
• Knowledge of Linux and scripting with Bash, Python, or Go; understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Zendesk, and ITIL practices; strong understanding of incident, problem, and change management.
• Basic experience with cloud-native environments and containers such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Tools and platforms

• Elastic Stack includes Elasticsearch, Kibana, Fleet Server, APM Server, and Elastic Agent; the stack is deployed and managed via ECK on OKE.
• Terraform, Helm charts, scripting, Jira, and ServiceNow are referenced in the role.

On-call

• Participate in an on-call rotation.
