Role overview

The Senior QA Engineer plans, designs, and executes manual and automated testing to assess software functionality, performance, reliability, and usability.

The role owns quality activities for assigned products or features, identifies risks early, supports defect resolution, and improves testing practices.

Testing and quality responsibilities

  • Plan and execute manual and automated testing; develop, maintain, and optimize test cases and scenarios based on requirements, acceptance criteria, changes, and risks.
  • Develop and execute automated scripts using established tools and frameworks, contributing to automation coverage and efficiency.
  • Design and execute performance tests, analyze results, and identify potential issues and bottlenecks.
  • Review requirements, designs, and acceptance criteria to identify gaps, dependencies, testability concerns, and quality risks early.
  • Contribute to test plans for complex products or features, covering scope, scenarios, test data, environments, dependencies, and effort estimates.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, API, and other applicable testing; track and verify defects through resolution.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, communicate testing progress and risks, and support QA Engineers through knowledge sharing and consistent practices.

Key deliverables

Test plans and optimized test cases aligned with requirements, acceptance criteria, technical changes, and identified quality risks.

Executed automation scripts and performance tests, with documented results, analysis, bottlenecks, and supporting evidence.

Testing with adequate coverage and within planned timelines; traceable defect reports with prioritization, evidence, verification results, and maintained traceability.

Test-cycle and quality reports covering progress, coverage, defects, blockers, risks, performance findings, and outcomes.

Documented contributions to test coverage, automation, testing efficiency, and knowledge sharing, following established QA practices and frameworks.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4–6 years of relevant work experience.
