Role overview
Hands-on Senior Security Engineer role focused on securing cloud and platform environments.
The engineer will work closely with engineering teams and build, review, and operate security controls using Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, and custom Go and TypeScript services.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage secure AWS and GCP cloud deployments using Terraform.
- Deploy and manage internal and third-party security products in Kubernetes environments.
- Work with GitOps workflows and tools such as Argo CD and Flux, and use Helm charts.
- Build security tooling and services using Go and TypeScript.
- Identify, analyze, and remediate cloud misconfigurations.
- Advise engineering teams on secure architecture.
- Build and optimize cloud-native detection rules and alerting pipelines for suspicious activity in cloud and container workloads.
Required skills and experience
- 8+ years in security engineering, cloud security, or platform engineering.
- Hands-on experience securing production workloads in AWS and GCP.
- Strong experience designing and securing Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code.
- Deep Kubernetes security knowledge, including Helm troubleshooting and GitOps workflows.
- Strong Go and TypeScript programming skills; Python can be used for automation where appropriate.
- Experience embedding security controls in CI/CD pipelines.
- CKA and CKS certifications are required.
Preferred qualifications
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, and HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate certifications are preferred.
- OPA or other policy-as-code experience, service mesh security such as Istio, and prior software or platform engineering experience are nice to have.
