Fleet Services builds and operates Agoda's Kubernetes platform, including more than 160 clusters and supporting platforms for GitOps, DNS, certificates, load balancing, identity, and etcd.
The team is distributed across Bangkok, Singapore, and Australia; this hire is Bangkok-based and is scheduled to start in Q1 2027.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate platform software in Go on Kubernetes.
- Own platform components through delivery and production, including controllers, automation, and GitOps.
- Work with InfraOps and platform users to make changes safe to roll out and easy to use.
- At senior level, lead component design, mentor other engineers, and carry production ownership without day-to-day direction.
What you'll need
- Production software engineering experience; at senior level, own a service or platform component through design, delivery, and production and design solutions independently.
- Go or a similar systems language that can be used productively quickly.
- Practical production Kubernetes experience, including workloads, APIs, and how clusters behave during failures.
- Linux experience and a habit of testing shipped work.
- Ability to assess change health using metrics, logs, and alerts.
- Clear written and spoken English for design notes, reviews, and discussions with other teams.
- Comfort using coding agents in daily work, or ability to adopt the workflow quickly without compromising judgment, code quality, or ownership.
Helpful experience
- Kubernetes controllers, operators, or CRDs; Cluster API; ArgoCD or other GitOps tools.
- Networking, DNS, certificates, load balancing, open-source operator/controller contributions, and infrastructure CI/CD.
- Experience working across several teams in a large engineering organization.
