Senior Procurement Officer - AI & Process Automation

Role overview

Procurement and vendor management

• Manage end-to-end sourcing, purchase orders, delivery coordination, and invoice verification.
• Evaluate vendors and quotations; negotiate commercial terms and recommend suppliers based on price, quality, lead time, reliability, and contract terms.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, finance, and site teams; maintain supplier records and track procurement activity.
• Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, support budget control and reporting, and procure project materials and services where applicable.

AI, automation, and process improvement

• Identify manual and repetitive procurement processes and implement AI-powered or rule-based workflows.
• Automate requisitions, quotations, purchase orders, supplier onboarding, document processing, approvals, and reporting.
• Use AI for supplier research, quotation analysis, document summarisation, reporting, and data organisation.
• Build tracking, alerts, dashboards, and integrations with ERP systems, spreadsheets, databases, and other business tools.
• Test, document, and improve automation solutions while maintaining human review, data accuracy, confidentiality, and approval controls.

Required qualifications

• At least five years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations experience.
• Strong knowledge of end-to-end procurement, supplier management, purchasing documentation, quotation comparison, negotiation, delivery tracking, and cost control.
• Demonstrated AI, workflow automation, or digital process improvement experience and the ability to develop practical automation solutions independently.
• Hands-on familiarity with AI and automation platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Power Automate, Make, Zapier, n8n, or equivalent.
• Experience with Excel automation, structured data, document extraction, reporting, and workflow integration.
• Ability to demonstrate automation projects, measurable efficiency improvements, or workflow examples.

Preferred experience and skills

• Real estate development, construction, contracting, or engineering procurement experience is strongly preferred.
• ERP, procurement management, accounting, or inventory systems experience is advantageous.
• Construction materials, MEP procurement, subcontractor sourcing, and project purchasing familiarity is preferred.
• Purchase-to-pay, supplier documentation, invoice processing, or approval-system automation experience is preferred.
