Role overview
Design, develop, and optimize mechanical systems and components for construction projects in compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
Key responsibilities
- Develop mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications for HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
- Prepare layouts and 3D models using CAD and BIM software.
- Integrate mechanical designs with architectural and structural layouts in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Conduct engineering calculations and simulations to check design viability and performance.
- Revise designs in response to project requirements, codes, and client feedback.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to support project execution.
- Visit sites to monitor installation and resolve design-related issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum five years of mechanical design engineering experience; construction industry experience preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD and BIM software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and manage multiple tasks.
- Previous consultant experience.
