Senior Procurement Engineer (Civil / MEP)

Role overview

Procurement and supplier management

• Manage procurement cycles; review requisitions, BOQs, drawings, and specifications; prepare RFQs; evaluate quotations and technical submissions.
• Identify long-lead items, coordinate consultant approvals, and manage purchase orders through delivery and payment.
• Source and prequalify suppliers, maintain the Approved Vendor List, negotiate commercial terms, and build supplier relationships and framework agreements.
• Manage international procurement and Incoterms where applicable, and apply Total Cost of Ownership principles to major packages.

Quality, documentation, and coordination

• Ensure material compliance with project specifications and regulations; coordinate inspections, approvals, FATs, SATs, and material submittals.
• Maintain procurement records and supporting documents, including RFQs, bid comparisons, purchase orders, invoices, warranties, and close-out documents.
• Track procurement schedules and deliveries, prepare weekly status reports, coordinate material availability, and use ERP systems such as Zoho Procurement or similar.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related discipline; degree attestation by MOFA and a MOHESR equivalency certificate are specified.
• At least 5 years of procurement experience in the UAE construction industry, including MEP and civil packages for commercial, hospitality, residential, or mixed-use developments.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, ELV, and civil construction materials.
• Experience in supplier evaluation, bid analysis, contract negotiation, purchase order management, and ERP procurement software.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Preferred qualifications and competencies

• CIPS Level 4 or above, sustainable construction project experience such as LEED or Estidama, and experience on large-scale UAE projects are preferred.
• The role calls for technical knowledge, negotiation and commercial management, project prioritization, analytical and problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and stakeholder communication.
