Role overview

Procurement and supplier management

• Manage the procurement cycle; review material requisitions, BOQs, drawings, and specifications before issuing RFQs.
• Prepare RFQs with technical and commercial requirements; evaluate quotations and technical submissions; coordinate consultant approvals.
• Identify long-lead items, plan procurement to prevent delays, and manage purchase orders through delivery and payment.
• Source and prequalify suppliers, maintain the Approved Vendor List, and build supplier relationships and framework agreements.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and commercial conditions; manage international procurement and Incoterms where applicable.
• Apply Total Cost of Ownership principles to major procurement packages.

Quality, documentation, and planning

• Ensure materials comply with project specifications and regulatory requirements; coordinate inspections, approvals, FATs, SATs, and material submittals.
• Maintain RFQs, bid comparisons, purchase orders, invoices, warranties, and close-out documentation.
• Track procurement schedules and deliveries, prepare weekly status reports, and coordinate with project teams, logistics, warehouses, and suppliers.
• Maintain procurement records using ERP systems such as Zoho Procurement.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline; degree must be MOFA-attested and supported by a MOHESR equivalency certificate.
• At least 5 years of procurement experience in the UAE construction industry.
• Proven procurement experience for MEP and civil packages in commercial, hospitality, residential, or mixed-use developments.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, ELV, and civil construction materials.
• Experience in supplier evaluation, bid analysis, contract negotiation, and purchase order management.
• Proficiency in ERP procurement software and excellent communication skills in English.

Preferred qualifications and competencies

• CIPS Level 4 or above, experience with LEED, Estidama, or other sustainable construction projects, and experience on large-scale UAE construction projects are preferred.
• The role calls for technical MEP and civil knowledge, negotiation and commercial management, prioritization across projects, analytical problem-solving, attention to detail, and stakeholder communication.
