Responsibilities
- Prepare schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations and confirm assigned schedules reflect the correct scope of work.
- Review planning and scheduling to ensure activities are effectively planned, resourced, and completed.
- Develop project codes of accounts and work breakdown structures, recommending revisions for newly assigned work items.
- Review construction methods and sequences prepared by Planning Engineers with the Project Manager.
- Establish methods for determining activity durations within assigned disciplines or specialties.
- Determine critical-path activities and identify significant activities and dependencies across disciplines or specialties.
- Review schedule data and obtain information needed to complete work logic and coordinate interfaces across disciplines, specialties, or projects.
- Identify, analyze, and monitor schedule deviations, including contractor submissions, and recommend corrective actions or workarounds.
- Write schedule commentary for monthly progress and similar reports; report critical or potentially impactful activities and present Critical Items Action Reports.
- Prepare and develop construction-project master schedules and project work breakdown structures.
- Perform critical-path analysis and identify areas of concern.
- Carry out other duties assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a similar field.
- Relevant project-control and planning-process experience, and contract-administration experience.
- Broad exposure to major projects such as airports, buildings, or infrastructure.
- Proficiency in MS Office, planning and project-management skills, and strong multitasking abilities.
