Fixed-term contract or secondment opportunity until 30 October 2028.
Part of the Cladding Safety Scheme team in Business Planning and Strategic Management, working with the Head of Governance and Reporting.
Supports risk identification, assessment, and mitigation and helps maintain governance, assurance, and control frameworks.
Risk and control duties
- Lead management of risks, issues, and control weaknesses, ensuring timely and proportionate action.
- Lead and support operational control testing and assurance activities and ensure compliance with Homes England's risk management framework and control standards.
- Oversee key risk monitoring and reporting, support mitigation plans, and provide constructive challenge.
- Use data, insight, and assurance activity to identify trends, inform decisions, and drive improvement.
- Strengthen governance arrangements across operational, programme, and corporate functions and mature CSS risk and control practices.
About you
- Proven track record of strengthening governance, risk management, and control frameworks and implementing practical improvements.
- Strong understanding of governance, risk management, and internal control principles.
- Experienced risk and assurance professional with strong analytical ability, organization, and attention to detail.
- Able to lead sensitive discussions, influence stakeholders at all levels, build consensus, and negotiate solutions.
- Able to balance strategic oversight with operational delivery, provide constructive challenge, and manage risks proportionately.
- Resilient, sound in judgement, and effective in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Able to lead teams and develop capability in others.
