Lead hands-on design and delivery of enterprise data products, transforming raw Bronze-layer data into cleansed Silver and Gold-layer datamarts for ML and AI teams.
Partner with Data Platforms, Data Science, and business stakeholders across Corporate and SME Banking to deliver governed, high-quality, performant data assets.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end data-product delivery from raw Bronze data through Silver layers to Gold datamarts.
- Build and optimize complex SQL on Amazon Redshift and Microsoft SQL Server, including stored procedures, views, materialized views, and functions; develop and tune Python pipelines.
- Deliver Gold datasets for ML and AI products and use ML outputs to create business intelligence for Corporate and SME Banking.
- Design Silver and Gold models using dimensional modeling, star schemas, and slowly changing dimensions across enterprise sources.
- Partner with Data Platforms, Architecture, and Data Science to build scalable data products on AWS.
- Embed data-quality checks, lineage, access controls, and monitoring in line with data-governance standards and CBUAE requirements.
- Provide technical leadership, review code, set standards, mentor data engineers, and supervise up to two engineers where required.
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering and data warehousing.
- Extensive banking experience, including Corporate Banking and SME Banking data.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and Amazon Redshift.
- Experience delivering medallion-based data products and datamarts for ML and AI consumption.
- Experience leading technical delivery and mentoring data engineers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Preferred qualification
- AWS Data Engineer or Solutions Architect certification is preferred.
