Teaching and student learning
- Teach FIN945 - Tokenized Assets and Decentralized Finance, FIN946 - Ethics and Regulation in FinTech, and FIN947 - FinTech Applications in Banking and Insurance.
- Coordinate courses and subjects and supervise Master's dissertations and PhD research.
- Use real-world FinTech tools, financial trading applications, projects and simulations in applied, case-led teaching.
- Integrate digital, analytics and learning technologies and develop assessments with industry and applied cases.
Research and industry engagement
- Maintain an active and impactful Finance and Financial Technology research program appropriate to Senior Lecturer level.
- The specification seeks at least 10 peer-reviewed journal articles from the last five years, indexed in Scopus and/or ranked through ABDC.
- Evidence of lead or senior authorship, high-ranking publications, research funding and interdisciplinary collaboration is sought.
- Industry experience is particularly attractive; relevant areas include digital banking, financial analytics, risk, compliance, AML/KYC, advisory and digital trading.
Essential qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's, Master's and PhD qualifications in Finance with Financial Technology specialization from an accredited university ranked within the top 200 according to QS rankings; PhD must be completed before commencement.
- At least 3 years of higher-education teaching experience and 3 years of post-PhD research experience.
- Demonstrated competence with contemporary financial technologies and experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Experience supervising Master's and PhD students; at least one completed PhD as principal or co-supervisor is required.
Candidate assessment
- Assessment emphasizes FinTech expertise, applied teaching excellence, research quality and impact, industry and practice credibility, research supervision, and industry engagement.
- Relevant professional experience of three or more years, especially within the last five years, is particularly attractive.
- Evidence of consultancy, live industry projects, digital financial trading or similar practice engagement strengthens an application.
