UOWD invites applications for two Lecturer positions in Mechanical Engineering within its School of Engineering.
The positions strengthen teaching across mechanical dynamics, materials, mechanical systems design, mechatronics, and intelligent engineering systems.
Academic responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervise student research, and coordinate courses.
- Engage in research, including externally funded, interdisciplinary, and practice-based activity.
- Deliver applied learning that builds students’ analytical, experimental, and design capabilities.
Position 1: Dynamics and Materials
- Teaching areas include Machine Dynamics, Reliability Engineering, Materials in Design, Engineering Practice and Experimental Methods, and Mechanical Engineering Design.
- Areas of expertise include machine dynamics, reliability, failure analysis, engineering materials, materials selection, mechanical design, experimental methods, and engineering measurement and analysis.
Position 2: Mechatronic and Mechanical Systems Design
- Teaching areas include Materials Selection for Mechanical Systems, Engineering Practice and Experimental Methods, Materials in Design, and Engineering Design and Management.
- Areas of expertise include mechatronic and mechanical systems design, intelligent mechanical systems, automation, AI applications in engineering systems, systems integration, and experimental engineering.
Candidate profile
- Candidates should combine sound engineering fundamentals with contemporary technical expertise and deliver engaging, applied, technically rigorous learning experiences.
- Candidates should communicate complex concepts clearly and connect theory, design, experimentation, and practical problem-solving.
- Industry experience or active industry collaboration is regarded positively.
