Role Description
Responsible for carrying out laboratory testing and quality-control activities for raw materials and fresh/hardened concrete.
Ensures compliance with approved mix designs, project specifications, and applicable international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct testing and inspection of raw materials including cement, aggregates, water, and chemical admixtures.
- Perform laboratory tests on fresh concrete, including slump, temperature, density/unit weight, and air content.
- Prepare concrete cubes/cylinders and conduct compressive-strength testing at specified ages.
- Monitor and verify concrete mix designs and trial mixes.
- Perform aggregate testing including sieve analysis, moisture content, specific gravity, absorption, and other relevant tests.
- Monitor cement and admixture quality through laboratory testing and supplier certificates.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, test reports, calibration records, and quality-control documentation.
- Investigate non-conforming test results and assist in identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with the batching plant, production team, project/site technicians, and QC engineers.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and operated safely.
- Support development and optimization of concrete mixes to improve strength, workability, durability, and cost efficiency.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
Educational Qualifications
- Civil Engineer.
