Senior Engineer - Civil

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Specify site investigations, including soil sampling, borehole drilling, and in-situ testing; analyze ground data and review geotechnical reports and recommendations.
• Design foundations, retaining structures, embankments, and slope stabilization systems; apply soil-structure interaction knowledge.
• Review plant civil drawings and documents for quality and timely delivery, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Support tendering and project development; evaluate tenders, vendor offers, and bids and prepare clarifications and reports.
• Coordinate design across civil, structural, environmental, electrical, instrumentation, and process teams; lead proposals and bidding for power and network projects.
• Lead projects and client interactions, contribute to project management and business development, and visit Middle East client offices or project sites as required.

Qualifications and experience

• Graduate or postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 6–8 years of geotechnical experience on HV substations, generation, desalination, wind, or solar power plants.
• A Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
• Middle East project familiarity and lead experience on large capital projects in India or the Middle East are preferred; Middle East experience is an added advantage.
• Power, water, and renewable project experience, including solar, wind, or BESS, is preferred; experience with SEC, NGSA, or TRANSCO is a strong differentiator.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, self-motivation, and willingness to learn and develop.

Work arrangement

• WSP describes its working model as hybrid.
• The role may require visits to client offices or project sites in the Middle East.
