Role overview

Responsibilities

• Contribute to project inception reviews, planning, drawing strategies, numbering, deliverables, resources, deadlines, and priorities.
• Agree setting-out coordinates, grid lines, floor levels, and building details with team members.
• Develop general arrangement, section, and detail drawings from engineering and design-team inputs; develop coordinated models and drawings.
• Produce accurate, high-standard models and drawings; perform self-checks and eliminate errors and clashes.
• Coordinate architectural and MEP models and collaborate with project teams.
• Use project templates, custom worksets, CAD resources, and available library items; comply with BIM Execution Plans and CAD standards.
• Plan drawing reviews before issue and follow QA, document-control, archiving, and CDM guidelines.
• Coach colleagues on intermediate CAD functions and guide others as required.
• Liaise with teams in India and the UK; contribute to CAD estimates and monitor work and fee tracking.
• Save project correspondence, apply lessons learned, and pursue personal improvement.

Mandatory skills and experience

• Diploma in Civil or higher; the qualification section also names a Civil diploma or B.Tech Civil.
• 8+ years of production experience in detailing, structural drafting, team management, and engineering, with similar-role experience or a strong track record.
• Expert Revit and AutoCAD knowledge, including standard functions and coaching junior staff.
• Experience producing detailed drawings and documents for concrete structures and steel members.
• Ability to review structural drawings using checklists and group standards.
• Use of BIM360, Navisworks, Microsoft Office 365, and MS Teams.
• Experience supporting several medium-sized projects, alone or in a wider CAD team, and working across sectors.
• Understanding of structural mechanics, consulting engineering, RIBA work stages, LOD, drawing requirements, and industry standards.
• Ability to coordinate with other disciplines.
• Experience with a Common Data Environment for rejecting and approving documents.

Desired skills

• Desired technical capabilities include Revit family creation, parametric modeling, embodied carbon, 3D reinforced concrete detailing, and underground drainage modeling.
• Useful software listed includes Civil 3D, SketchUp, Rhino, Fusion, Forge, Inventor, and Bluebeam.
• Familiarity with PAS 1192 and BS 1192 standards is specified.

Qualification

• Diploma in Civil or higher; the qualifications section separately specifies Diploma - Civil / B.Tech Civil.
