Role overview

Responsibilities

• Contribute to project inception, planning, drawing strategy, drawing numbering, and efficient production methods.
• Follow BIM Execution Plans and agree drawing deliverables, resources, deadlines, and priorities with project teams.
• Coordinate setting-out coordinates, grids, floor levels, and building details with other team members.
• Develop coordinated general arrangement, section, and detail drawings and models from engineers’ sketches and design-team information.
• Produce accurate models and drawings, check for errors and clashes, and coordinate architectural and MEP models.
• Use company CAD standards, templates, menus, supporting documentation, and library items.
• Self-check models and drawings and ensure reviews are completed before issue.
• Follow QA, document-control, archiving, and CDM guidelines.
• Liaise with project teams in India and the UK; contribute to estimates and monitor work and fee tracking.
• Save project correspondence, apply lessons learned, and advise or coach colleagues when requested.

Mandatory skills and experience

• Expert knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD, including standard functions and coaching junior staff in their use.
• Prepare detailed plans and documents for concrete structures and steel members used in building and non-building construction.
• Review structural drawing accuracy using checklists and group standards.
• Use AutoCAD, BIM360, Navisworks, Microsoft Office 365, and MS Teams.
• Experience supporting several medium-sized projects, alone or within a wider CAD team, and working across different sectors.
• Understand structural mechanics, building construction, consulting engineering, industry standards, RIBA work stages, and LOD requirements.
• Knowledge of project template files, custom worksets, Revit phasing, Uniclass 2015, and software file types.
• Familiarity with PAS 1192 and BS 1192 standards and experience with CDE document approval and rejection workflows.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or higher.
• At least 8 years of production experience in detailing, structural drawing drafting, team management, and engineering, or a strong track record in a similar role.

• Revit family creation, parametric modeling, embodied carbon, 3D reinforced concrete detailing, and underground drainage modeling are desired capabilities.
• Useful additional software includes Civil 3D, SketchUp, Rhino, Fusion, Forge, Inventor, and Bluebeam.
• Oral and written English communication skills are desired.
