Associate - Hydrogeology

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Manage hydrogeological data and develop conceptual models and interpretations based on the data.
• Conduct risk-assessment modelling using ConSim, RTM, and LandSim.
• Prepare and review factual and interpretive reports on hydrogeological conditions.
• Communicate and liaise with the UK Ground and Water project team, including team members, project managers, and directors.
• Undertake bid preparation and develop project resources and budgets.
• Line-manage and support the professional development of early-career professionals.
• Contribute to recruitment and growth of the GCC Hydrogeology team.
• Manage projects and tasks, including assigned project work.
• Develop source-pathway-receptor linkages and model risks for hydrogeological and detailed quantitative risk assessments for contaminated land and landfill.
• Use and learn relevant software, including ConSim, LandSim, P20, FeFlow, Modflow, and SeepW.
• Own aspects of project delivery, delegating to and overseeing junior team members while managing technical quality, schedule, and budget.
• Build client relationships to support project outcomes and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and experience

• Postgraduate qualification (MTech, MSc, and/or PhD) in hydrogeology or a hydrogeological discipline.
• Chartership with an appropriate geoscience organisation is listed as a qualification.
• More than 10 years of industry experience is desirable.
• Experience in UK environmental consulting is desirable.
• Understanding of the UK land-contamination and regulatory regime and its risk-based assessment approach.
• Good presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
