Senior Engineer CAD role in Motherson's Vision Systems division in Noida, India.
The division develops automotive mirrors and camera systems.
Design and drawings
- Create 3D plastic part designs and 2D drawings of individual child parts.
- Prepare detailed annotated assembly drawings considering functional requirements, manufacturing tolerances, and industry standards.
- Use CATIA V5 to assess styling data for feasibility, manufacturability, and compliance.
- Develop concepts from customer-provided surface data.
Tooling, materials, and tolerances
- Perform draft analysis on plastic parts and assess tooling feasibility.
- Evaluate core-cavity design, ejection mechanisms, and lifter and slider feasibility.
- Select automotive engineering plastics based on mechanical properties, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Apply GD&T principles for manufacturing, inspection, and functional alignment.
Qualifications and experience
- B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of experience, or a Mechanical Diploma with 10+ years of post-qualification experience.
- Automotive industry experience.
