Senior Engagement Manager, Professional Services

AWS is hiring a technical Engagement Manager to lead consultants, partners, and client teams in cloud professional services engagements.
The engagements help customers and partners achieve business objectives, remove constraints, and accelerate cloud adoption.
This is a customer-facing role requiring travel to client locations and professional services delivery when needed.
Key responsibilities
- Manage projects independently and deliver as part of larger teams.
- Own workstreams end to end, understand customer outcomes, and lead teams through delivery.
- Manage customer expectations, proactively handle risks, and use effective governance to deliver solutions tied to customer objectives.
- Communicate with AWS team members, stakeholders, and customer counterparts; customer satisfaction is a key driver.
- Engage other teams to learn and share, and participate in recruitment and onboarding.
- Help customers make technical and business decisions, apply best practices, and identify and close project gaps.
Basic qualifications
- At least 5 years leading multiple Agile teams concurrently or at scale.
- At least 7 years leading and delivering enterprise-level IT engagements.
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
- Knowledge of AWS or equivalent cloud services.
- Enterprise IT experience as a vendor or consultant, or experience working with or managing technical programs.
- At least 7 years delivering customer engagements in a professional services role.
Preferred qualifications
- Project management certification such as PMP, Scrum, or another Agile certification.
- AWS certification.
- Experience with Agile or other program management methodologies.
- Experience working with and presenting to C-level executives, IT, and business lines across organizations, or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of cloud and on-premises integration experience, or a bachelor’s degree, is listed as preferred.
