Role overview
Internship with the AWS Field Engineering team supporting data center infrastructure and facility operations.
Work alongside experienced Field Engineers on operational challenges, optimization projects, and internal systems and processes.
Key responsibilities
- Troubleshoot site and equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and document corrective actions.
- Support operational issues with training, operating procedure reviews, and critical equipment and event support.
- Develop conceptual designs for upgrades that increase capacity, availability, and efficiency.
- Coordinate with design engineering, server hardware, and environmental health and safety teams on standards.
- Work on concurrent projects and support construction through design, build, commissioning, and handover.
Basic qualifications
- Be enrolled in a BE/BSc in Electrical, Mechanical, Design Engineering, Building Services, or a similar technical field, graduating in 2027.
- Have fluent written and verbal communication in English and Arabic.
- Have the right to work in the United Arab Emirates.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with problem-solving methodologies and analytical approaches to technical challenges.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with data-driven processes.
- Experience building collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders and teams.
- Strong communication skills and commitment to high-quality documentation and reporting.

Field Engineering provides electrical and mechanical expertise across the data center lifecycle, from initial design to ongoing optimization and maintenance.
The team partners with design engineering, server hardware, environmental health and safety, and other groups to support consistent and reliable services.
