Senior DevOps / SRE Engineer

Role overview

Cloud and platform operations

• Design, manage, and optimize AWS production infrastructure and production and non-production environments.
• Manage EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, ECR, ElastiCache, VPC, IAM, load balancers, Route 53, CloudFront, and CloudWatch.
• Deliver highly available, scalable, secure, cost-efficient infrastructure and troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and production issues.
• Manage Kubernetes/EKS deployments, services, ingress, HPA, RBAC, secrets, namespaces, and node groups; troubleshoot pod, node, networking, resource, and scheduling issues.
• Use Helm and build CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools; automate deployments, rollbacks, and releases.

Reliability and observability

• Define and monitor SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs and improve availability, resilience, performance, and scalability.
• Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, health checks, automated recovery, and automation to reduce operational toil.
• Participate in production incidents and on-call activities; lead root-cause analysis and postmortems for major incidents and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Build and maintain monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing; create dashboards and alerts for latency, traffic, errors, saturation, infrastructure health, and service availability.
• Use tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, Fluent Bit, or ELK/OpenSearch.

Automation, security, and cost

• Manage infrastructure using Terraform or equivalent IaC tools; automate provisioning, deployments, scaling, backups, and operational processes and build reusable components.
• Implement AWS and Kubernetes security best practices and manage IAM, secrets, access controls, and infrastructure security.
• Implement backup, disaster recovery, RTO/RPO, and high-availability strategies and regularly test recovery and failover.
• Own business-unit cloud-cost visibility, allocation, and optimization; tag resources, monitor spend against budget, and identify anomalies and underused resources.
• Optimize EKS/EC2, RDS, Redis, S3, logging, and data-transfer costs; build cost dashboards and reports and deliver savings without compromising reliability or performance.

Required qualifications

• 5–6 years of hands-on DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering experience.
• Strong AWS and Kubernetes/AWS EKS experience; strong Docker and Linux experience.
• Strong CI/CD experience; experience with Terraform and Helm.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go.
• Strong monitoring and observability experience; experience handling production incidents and conducting root-cause analysis.
• Good understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture.
• Understanding of SRE principles including SLI, SLO, SLA, error budgets, MTTR, capacity planning, and incident management.

Preferred skills

• Cloud cost management/FinOps experience is highly preferred.
• Good to have: Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Kafka, Redis/ElastiCache, PostgreSQL/RDS, ArgoCD/GitOps, OpenCost, or AWS certifications.

Compensation

• Pay is listed as AED 5,000–6,000 per month; the structured salary field lists AED 5,000/month.
