Role overview
Administer, maintain, secure, and optimize enterprise database environments to ensure availability, performance, data integrity, and reliability.
The initial contract duration is 12 months, with potential for extension.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure databases, tune performance, and optimize queries.
- Manage backup and recovery, troubleshooting, access control, and capacity planning.
- Support database upgrades and disaster recovery activities.
- Monitor database performance and maintain data integrity and operational continuity.
Qualifications
- At least 8 years of relevant enterprise database administration and management experience.
- Strong knowledge of relational database systems, database architecture, SQL, performance tuning, and query optimization.
- Experience with backup and recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, security, and access management.
- Ability to monitor performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure data integrity and operational continuity.
- Relevant industry certification in database administration or applicable database technologies.
Visa and contractor eligibility preferences
- Candidates with existing UAE residency or independent work arrangements are preferred.
- Examples include a valid Golden Visa, freelance permit or license, business or trade license, or spouse- or family-sponsored UAE residency, subject to applicable work authorization.
