IT Service Transition & Mobilization Lead

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end service transition and mobilization, including structured handover of enterprise infrastructure and managed services.
• Assess IT environments, infrastructure, operational processes, documentation, dependencies, and readiness; conduct site surveys and verify assets/configurations.
• Validate inventories, configuration records, infrastructure documentation, and service information; support ITAM, configuration management, and CMDB accuracy.
• Perform gap analysis and risk assessments; develop transition plans with milestones, dependencies, responsibilities, and handover requirements.
• Coordinate knowledge transfer, service onboarding, technical documentation, and operational handover between service teams.
• Work with network, systems, storage, backup, security, and support teams; support ITSM incident, change, configuration, problem, and service-level processes.
• Maintain transition records, asset verification reports, risk registers, operational procedures, and knowledge-transfer documentation.
• Coordinate technical teams, vendors, service providers, and business stakeholders to support readiness and continuity.

Required experience and qualifications

• Relevant experience in IT service transition, infrastructure management, service delivery, IT operations, or managed IT services.
• Strong understanding of service transition, infrastructure assessment, and operational handover; hands-on ITAM, asset inventory, verification, and configuration management experience.
• Experience with CMDBs, configuration items, infrastructure documentation, environment assessments, site surveys, gap analysis, and risk assessments.
• Ability to coordinate knowledge transfer, service onboarding, transition planning, and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of servers, networking, storage, virtualization, backup, and enterprise IT systems.
• Experience supporting ITSM/ITIL processes, including incident, change, and problem management.
• Strong stakeholder management, vendor coordination, documentation, communication, and multi-team coordination skills.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred experience and certifications

• Experience with ServiceNow ITSM/ITAM/CMDB, BMC Remedy, ManageEngine, or equivalent platforms is preferred.
• ITIL-based transition, service delivery, or managed services operations experience is preferred.
• Enterprise infrastructure, data center operations, IT outsourcing, or managed services background is preferred.
• Asset discovery, configuration audits, asset lifecycle management, and CMDB reconciliation experience is preferred.
• Experience with transition plans, risk registers, knowledge-transfer plans, and operational readiness assessments is preferred.
• Knowledge of IT governance, SLA management, service acceptance, and business continuity is preferred.
• ITIL, ISO/IEC 20000, PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certifications are preferred.
