Role overview

Assurance and monitoring duties

• Execute the annual Compliance Assurance and Compliance Monitoring Plan; conduct independent reviews, control testing, thematic reviews, deep dives, and quality assurance across business units.
• Evaluate policies, procedures, systems, processes, and controls against applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Assess AML/CFT, sanctions, fraud prevention, Consumer Protection, and Market Conduct obligations; document findings, root causes, risks, control gaps, and recommendations.
• Prepare assurance reports for management, executive management, and governance committees; track remediation and independently validate closure of findings.
• Assess customer outcomes and fair treatment across customer journeys, products, communications, disclosures, complaints, vulnerable customers, and conduct risk.
• Review financial-crime controls covering sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, CDD, EDD, suspicious-activity reporting, and UAE AML requirements.
• Support regulatory submissions, management information reporting, inspections, examinations, audits, and information requests.
• Maintain monitoring methodologies, testing programs, documentation, dashboards, reports, and complete records of assurance work and remediation.
• Liaise with Operations, Product, Technology, Risk, Fraud, Legal, and other functions; provide guidance and awareness sessions and support junior team members where applicable.
• Monitor regulatory trends, escalate risks, deliver reviews on time, and recommend improvements to compliance frameworks and controls.

Candidate requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Compliance, Risk Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• CAMS certification is mandatory; ICA Advanced Certificate, CFE, CRCM, or similar compliance or risk certifications are preferred.
• At least 6 years of experience in compliance, financial-crime compliance, monitoring or assurance, internal audit, risk management, or regulatory compliance.
• FinTech, Digital Banking, Payment Services, Exchange House, or regulated financial institution experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with assurance and monitoring programs, regulatory testing, AML/CFT and sanctions reviews, consumer protection, market conduct, regulatory reporting, remediation, and audits.
• Strong knowledge of UAE requirements, including CBUAE regulations and guidance; understanding of AML/CFT, sanctions, fraud prevention, financial crime, Consumer Protection, and Market Conduct.
• Experience with compliance monitoring methodologies and assurance testing; strong analytical, investigative, problem-solving, stakeholder-management, and communication skills.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and deadlines, exercise sound professional judgment, influence senior stakeholders, and support junior colleagues.

Compensation

• Pay is AED 12,000–15,000 per month; the description states a maximum gross salary of AED 15,000.
• The stated package includes a company-provided visa, health insurance, and yearly airfare.
