Role overview

Key accountabilities

• Lead multi-agent AI design, orchestration, and MCP integrations; evaluate technologies and recommend adoption strategies.
• Architect vector stores, embedding and retrieval systems, document processing frameworks, and AI service API standards.
• Lead Azure or GCP AI cloud architecture, Kafka event-driven systems, and OpenShift/Kubernetes model serving and MLOps.
• Mentor engineers; lead design and code reviews; establish engineering, CI/CD, testing, documentation, and architecture practices.
• Partner with product, business, enterprise architecture, and IT stakeholders to translate needs and align solutions with bank strategy.
• Support AI governance and compliance; define service-level agreements and implement monitoring and alerting.

Competencies

• Deep expertise in LLMs, embeddings, generative AI, agent development, multi-agent systems, vector databases, RAG, and retrieval patterns.
• Expert Python and AI/ML frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Semantic Kernel; API design, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
• Cloud experience with Azure or GCP and object storage; advanced Kafka, Spark, and workflow orchestration knowledge.
• Docker and OpenShift/Kubernetes; MLOps, monitoring, versioning, and model lifecycle management.
• TensorFlow or PyTorch, MLflow or TFX, Git, CI/CD, SQL, and data visualization and reporting are listed competencies.
• Ability to lead initiatives, mentor engineers, manage stakeholders, communicate clearly, and collaborate with IT, security, and compliance teams.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 4 years focused on AI/ML applications.
• Demonstrated leadership delivering AI solutions in production environments.
• Expert Azure or GCP, OpenShift/Kubernetes, and enterprise integration experience.
• Banking or financial services experience is mandatory.
• Regulatory compliance, data governance, and security experience preferred; relevant cloud AI certification strongly preferred.
