The role helps protect the organization's digital assets and the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information systems.
CSOC detection and response
- Monitor security events, reports, alerts, and CSOC dashboards for anomalous patterns and potential incidents.
- Respond to and manage CSOC incidents and related activities, including root-cause analysis.
- Gather information and provide actionable intelligence on potential cyber threats and incidents.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly CSOC key risk indicator reports, including presentations when needed.
- Create and fine-tune monitoring use cases and alerts.
- Check CSOC systems and tools, host monitoring, and collection of required security event logs.
Security operations and controls
- Build, support, and update CSOC playbooks and processes under InfoSec management guidance.
- Support administration and configuration of SIEM, antivirus, network security devices, PAM, DLP, and vulnerability management controls.
- Prepare security awareness communications for management, IT staff, and users; participate in cyber drills and CSOC exercises.
- Escalate critical items and coordinate remediation with relevant teams.
- Investigate security queries and risks, recommend controls, perform exception reviews and risk assessments, and support due diligence.
- Facilitate technology audits and control remediation and maintain incident documentation.
Required qualifications and experience
- B.Sc. degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience in Security Operations or equivalent Information Technology experience.
