Role summary
The specialist monitors, detects, analyses and responds to cybersecurity incidents to protect digital assets and information-system confidentiality, integrity and availability.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor CSOC events, reports, alerts and dashboards; investigate anomalies and manage incidents, including root cause analysis.
- Gather threat intelligence, prepare key-risk-indicator reports, and create and tune CSOC use cases and alerts.
- Check CSOC system health and log collection, and build and maintain playbooks and processes under InfoSec management guidance.
- Support administration and configuration of SIEM, antivirus, network security, PAM, DLP and vulnerability-management controls.
- Prepare security-awareness communications, participate in cyber drills, escalate critical issues and coordinate remediation.
- Perform exception reviews, due diligence, risk assessments and audit remediation; resolve security queries and recommend controls.
- Maintain information-security incident documentation.
Required qualifications and experience
- B.Sc. degree in computer science, engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience in security operations or equivalent information technology work.
- No professional certification is specified.
