Works in the Security Control Centre to monitor the security of Thames Water’s estate and help protect people, sites, and critical assets.
Uses CCTV, intruder detection, and electronic access control systems and supports security incident response.
What you will do
- Monitor alarms and CCTV, check system operation, triage incident reports, and initiate auditable responses.
- Support operational sites during security incidents or system outages and activate disaster recovery plans when needed.
- Manage the control-centre environment, ID cards, and access requirements; support the Supervisor as required.
- Assist with system health checks, data and subject access requests, contractor maintenance, and defect management.
- Support investigations and incident records, contribute to improvements, and assist with security projects and system upgrades.
Essential criteria and clearance
- Operational experience in a similar SCC, AMC, ARC, or SOC role.
- Experience with CCTV, alarms, access control, and monitoring and response procedures.
- Analytical, decisive, self-motivated, committed, and organised.
- Must hold active CTC clearance or be willing and eligible to undergo UK National Security Vetting before starting.
Hours and shifts
- 38.5 hours per week, working a 4-on-4-off pattern of 12-hour day shifts.
Location
- The role is based at Kemble Court, Reading.
Salary and benefits
- Salary is £33,200–£44,000 per annum, depending on experience and skills.
- Benefits include 24 days of holiday, rising to 28 with service, plus bank holidays; a contributory pension; annual personal medical assessments; performance-related pay; and a wider benefits scheme.
