Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, secure, performant SAS solutions for data integration and analytics.
• Build, operate and improve data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, reporting, fraud detection and analytics, with monitoring, alerting and SLAs.
• Refine requirements with product teams and clients, aligning decisions with cost, performance and security needs.
• Support incident resolution and service continuity.
• Share knowledge, mentor colleagues and contribute to engineering communities of practice.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate across engineering, analysis and business teams.
• Develop, test and support solutions for fraud detection, data management, business intelligence, application support and analytics.

Required experience and skills

• Experience delivering large-scale, complex data solutions as a Data Engineer.
• Expertise in SAS 9.x and SAS Viya 3.x/4; listed tooling includes SAS Studio, Visual Analytics, Visual Investigator, VDMML, Intelligence Decisioning and Environment Manager.
• Solid data modelling and ETL knowledge.
• Experience with batch scheduling and job or flow deployment using Airflow and/or native SAS schedulers.
• Knowledge of SAS performance optimisation, including database connectivity.
• Ability to partner with Architects on robust, scalable solutions and apply CI/CD best practices.
• Strong client-facing and consultancy skills.
• SC clearance is required; applicants must have continuously resided in the UK for the previous five years and meet other clearance criteria.
