The role focuses on construction sites, regulatory and project compliance, accident prevention, and promoting a strong safety culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- At least 5–8 years of construction site safety experience.
- NEBOSH IGC, OSHA, IOSH, or equivalent professional certification is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of local HSE regulations and international safety standards.
- Experience in risk assessment, hazard identification, and incident investigation.
- Good communication and leadership skills; able to conduct safety training and toolbox talks.
- Proficiency in MS Office and safety reporting systems.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and enforce company HSE policies and procedures on site.
- Conduct site inspections, identify hazards, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Prepare and review risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and safety plans.
- Ensure compliance with local authority regulations and project safety requirements.
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness training for workers and staff.
- Monitor PPE use and ensure proper safety practices.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend preventive measures.
- Maintain safety records, logs, and documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors on safe work practices.
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
