Role overview
Welcome guests, handle table reservations, and control guest flow at the restaurants.
Responsibilities
- Welcome, lead, and seat guests; take telephone bookings and maintain organized reservations.
- Assist with table and display setup, and maintain the guest database.
- Apply LQA and hotel standards, attend to guests, resolve complaints where possible, and report incidents.
- Complete service training and maintain outlet reports on schedule.
- Support service during busy periods, including section holding, coffee station, back area, and mise en place.
- Keep the hostess station, surrounding areas, and menus clean; prepare operational materials.
- Maintain good colleague relationships and assist other food-and-beverage outlets during peak periods.
- Learn safety, sanitation, and hygiene policies; present checks and cashier when needed.
- Control guest flow for restaurant turnover, train staff in hostess standards, and ensure the restaurant is ready before opening.
- Support other duties assigned by hotel management.
Qualifications and experience
- Excellent reading, writing, and speaking proficiency in English.
- Professional presentation and grooming, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to build rapport with guests.
- Computer knowledge including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; eagerness to learn and share knowledge.
- Secondary education and one year of hotel food-and-beverage experience.
