HVAC Technician at Raffles The Palm Dubai, reporting to the Engineering Supervisor or Duty Engineer.
Responsible for HVAC installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting across the property to support safe, efficient hotel operations.
Responsibilities
- Report daily work progress and work-order completion to the Duty Engineer or Supervisor.
- Attend daily air-conditioning complaint reports, prioritizing guest-room issues.
- Carry out preventive maintenance and the annual maintenance program with engineering colleagues.
- Follow job safety rules, departmental procedures, and instructions.
- Inspect refrigeration equipment periodically and perform scheduled guest-room maintenance.
- Work with electricians on electrical tasks when required, including functions and parties.
- Complete daily refrigeration logs and record temperatures.
- Keep tools in good working condition and maintain a neat, clean work area.
- Ensure HVAC stock is ordered and stores are managed and maintained; assist with other projects as required.
Qualifications and experience
- Secondary school plus technical college, or equivalent.
- At least five years of air-conditioning or refrigeration installation or maintenance experience in industrial or commercial projects.
- Luxury hotel or hospital experience is preferred.
- Able to read building services, air-conditioning, refrigeration, and electrical drawings.
- Able to fault-find and repair air-conditioning and building control systems; good electrical knowledge and BMS knowledge are specified.
- Experience with reciprocating chillers, air-handling plants, and cold rooms.
- Familiarity with planned preventive maintenance and safety programs.
Practical skills and attributes
- Good practical trade skills, including fabrication, installation, and maintenance.
- Ability to perform gas and arc welding.
- Good command of English.
- Flexible team player able to work on own initiative.
