The receptionist is the first point of contact for customers at a garage and provides front-desk support, appointment management, and administrative assistance.
Customer service
- Greet customers professionally, answer calls and emails, and provide basic service, pricing, and timeline information.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, share service updates between technicians and customers, and handle or escalate complaints.
Administration and operations
- Maintain customer records and vehicle service history; prepare invoices and process payments.
- Organize repair orders and service documents, assist with applicable warranty and insurance paperwork, and order office supplies.
- Coordinate with service advisors and mechanics, help manage workshop bookings, and maintain clean, welcoming reception and waiting areas.
Qualifications and skills
- Previous receptionist or customer service experience; automotive industry experience is preferred.
- Basic understanding of vehicle services such as oil changes, brake repair, and diagnostics.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and garage management systems; accounting knowledge is requested.
- Professional appearance and a positive attitude; the posting states a maximum of 2 to 3 years of experience in the same field.
