Serve as the first point of contact for customers at a garage and provide front-desk support, appointment management, customer assistance, and administrative support to the service team.
Customer service
- Greet customers professionally, answer calls, and respond to emails.
- Schedule, confirm, and manage service appointments.
- Provide basic information about services, pricing, and timelines.
- Communicate service updates between technicians and customers.
- Handle complaints politely and escalate when needed.
Administrative and operational duties
- Maintain customer records and vehicle service histories.
- Prepare invoices and process cash, card, and online payments.
- File and organize repair orders and service documents; order and track office supplies.
- Assist with warranty paperwork and insurance documentation when applicable.
- Coordinate with service advisors and mechanics regarding job status.
- Keep reception and waiting areas clean and welcoming; help manage job schedules and workshop bookings.
Skills and qualifications
- Receptionist or customer service experience; automotive industry experience is preferred.
- Basic understanding of vehicle services such as oil changes, brake repair, and diagnostics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with good organization and multitasking abilities.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and garage management systems.
- Knowledge of accounting.
- The description prefers 2 years of receptionist experience and also states a maximum of 2 to 3 years of experience in the same field.
