About BEAMS

BEAMS is described as a Japanese culture shop bringing together fashion, food, and art.

BEAMS Abu Dhabi aims to connect Japanese and Abu Dhabi culture through creativity, craftsmanship, service, and hospitality.

Role overview

The Receiving Clerk supports retail and F&B operations in Abu Dhabi through receiving, inventory management, purchasing administration, and cost documentation.

The role controls retail merchandise, F&B stock, packaging, consumables, and store assets, working with Retail, F&B, VMD, suppliers, and Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect merchandise, food, supplies, and equipment; reconcile deliveries to approved POs, delivery notes, and invoices.
  • Record stock movements and maintain secure, labelled storage; coordinate retail replenishment and F&B stock issuance.
  • Prepare approved purchase orders, follow up deliveries, conduct cycle counts and inventories, and investigate variances.
  • Compile food-cost, waste, stock-consumption, and ageing reports; maintain invoice, expense, and period-end documentation.
  • Support Finance with accurate records; escalate accounting or tax judgments and communicate shortages, damage, and discrepancies.
  • Maintain separation between requesting, receiving, approving, and paying activities.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in storekeeping, inventory, logistics, or purchasing administration.
  • Retail and F&B experience is strongly preferred; a Supply Chain, Inventory, Finance, or related qualification is preferred.
  • Fluent English; strong Excel skills and confidence with data and reports.
  • Experience with inventory or stock-management systems, receiving and reconciliation, POs, invoices, and cost documentation.
  • Ability to investigate and resolve stock variances; high accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Strong integrity, confidentiality, cross-functional communication, and coordination skills.

Reporting and accountability

  • Reports to the Shop Manager and coordinates functionally with the General Manager and Local Finance; works with Retail, F&B, VMD, and approved suppliers.
  • Accountable for accurate stock, PO, invoice, and cost records.
  • Has no independent authority for purchasing, payment, write-offs, or supplier appointment.

Working conditions

  • Work includes deliveries, stockroom, and office-based tasks, with physical carton and stock handling.
  • Early, late, and period-end activities may be required; the role involves confidential records and system access.
