The QA/QC Inspector leads inspection of joinery production and site works and helps build the QA/QC function.
The role is responsible for reducing non-conformances, rework, wastage, and client rejections across the Joinery Division.
Key responsibilities
- Lead inspections from raw materials through joinery installation using technical knowledge of materials, finishes, hardware, and methods.
- Own NCR processing, including root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive action, and closure tracking.
- Develop QA/QC SOPs, inspection checklists, quality manuals, hold points, ITPs, and escalation paths.
- Verify supplier and subcontractor materials against approved samples and specifications, including batch and lot consistency.
- Represent QA/QC to clients and consultants during inspections, quality presentations, and workmanship dispute resolution.
- Issue quality reports, maintain traceable records, and lead snagging, de-snagging, and handover documentation.
- Mentor junior QC inspectors and contribute to trials of alternate materials, finishes, and processes.
Qualifications and experience
- Diploma or degree in engineering, quality, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent extensive practical experience.
- At least 10 years of QA/QC experience in joinery, fit-out, or furniture manufacturing, including senior or lead inspection responsibility.
- Deep working knowledge of joinery materials, processes, quality standards, NCR/CAPA systems, and ISO 9001 principles.
- Track record of developing SOPs, manuals, or quality systems and representing QA/QC to clients and consultants.
- Genuine interest in trialling and evaluating alternate raw materials, finishes, and processes.
