Role overview

Tender study and analysis

• Study tender drawings, specifications, BOQs, scope of work, contract details, and conditions.
• Prepare tender study reports by analysing the scope of work.
• Prepare technical clarifications for discrepancies in tender documents and incorporate client responses.
• Participate in pre-tender meetings and site visits, and prepare site visit reports analysing project scope.

Estimation and costing

• Prepare BOQs and quantity take-offs.
• Implement the tender strategy communicated by the Proposals / Estimation Manager.
• Coordinate with construction and operations teams to establish execution approaches and method statements for the estimate.
• Establish direct cost resources and prepare man-hour calculations for activities.

Vendor and subcontractor management

• Obtain competitive quotations through procurement, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Analyse vendor technical and commercial offers against project specifications and applicable standards.
• Prepare comparative statements and vendor cost comparison reports to support vendor and subcontractor selection and pricing.

Bid preparation and post-tender activities

• Prepare required commercial and technical bid documents.
• Collect vendor technical data sheets, specifications, and drawings and compile them for technical bid submissions.
• Coordinate post-tender technical and commercial clarifications, including with vendors.
• Assist management with post-tender commercial negotiations with clients and vendors to achieve competitive pricing.
• Assist project and procurement teams after award and during the initial project phase.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline.
• 10 years of MEP estimation experience, with at least 5 years in the UAE or GCC.
• Proven experience tendering for MEP contracting projects.
