Produce accurate, timely, documented cost and quantity estimates for joinery works.
Support tendering and variation orders from take-off through submission, aligned with client, consultant, and project specifications.
Key responsibilities
- Review client presentations, drawings, layouts, and details; suggest practical alternatives before estimating.
- Prepare accurate joinery cost and quantity estimates and compare estimates against actual costs.
- Conduct variance analysis, perform drawing-based quantity take-offs, and prepare Bills of Quantities.
- Document estimating assumptions and exclusions; submit tender and variation order estimates on time.
- Respond to quotation and clarification requests, follow up on approvals, and maintain correspondence records.
- Maintain a unit rate list for standard items and meet tight tender deadlines.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
- At least 8–10 years of estimation experience; joinery, interior fit-out, or furniture manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of joinery materials, construction methods, and industry specifications.
Tools and capabilities
- Proficiency in take-off and estimation software, Microsoft Excel, and AutoCAD for drawing interpretation.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, attention to detail, communication, and coordination.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple estimates and deadlines.
