Mechanical QS / Estimator responsible for estimates, quantity take-offs, tender submissions, budgeting, and cost control for mechanical and MEP projects.
Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
- Prepare quantity take-offs for HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting, and mechanical systems.
- Prepare estimates, budgets, and tender pricing; obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Analyze requirements for cost-effective solutions and submit technical and commercial proposals on time.
- Monitor project costs and variations; evaluate subcontractor claims, quotations, and payment applications.
- Assist with contract administration, cost reports, and final accounts.
- Coordinate commercial matters with project teams, suppliers, and clients.
- Maintain cost and estimation records and ensure compliance with company and client requirements.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least two years as a Mechanical QS / Estimator in MEP or construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting, and mechanical systems.
- Proficient in quantity take-offs, cost estimation, tendering, contracts, BOQ preparation, and project costing.
- Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation software.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Preferred qualifications
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience preparing variations and claims; knowledge of local market rates, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tender deadlines; immediate joiners are preferred.
Compensation
- Pay is AED 2,600–8,500 per month; salary is stated as dependent on qualifications and experience.
Workplace and employment
- Full-time role in the UAE; work is in person.
