Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site QS Engineer role based in Abu Dhabi.
The QS Engineer will prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project specifications and budgets.
The role includes evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations, assisting in contract negotiations, and monitoring project costs against budgets throughout the construction lifecycle.
The QS Engineer will manage variations and claims, support the preparation of interim payment applications and final accounts, and maintain up-to-date cost reports for stakeholders.
Daily responsibilities also involve coordinating with project managers, site engineers, and the procurement team, performing site measurements, and ensuring compliance with company procedures and relevant standards.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in cost estimation, quantity take-off, and preparation of bills of quantities for high-end construction projects.
- Experience in tendering, bid analysis, and evaluation of subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Proficiency in cost control, budgeting, and financial tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
- Capability in managing variations, claims, interim payments, and final account settlements.
- Hands-on experience with QS and construction software (e.g., AutoCAD, Excel, and common QS/ERP tools).
- Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and technical drawings in architectural and interior-fit-out projects.
- Knowledge of contract conditions, procurement processes, and relevant UAE construction regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and coordination skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field; professional certifications in QS or cost management are an advantage.
- Previous experience as a QS Engineer in the UAE, preferably on high-end or complex architectural projects.
- Ability to work on-site in Abu Dhabi, manage deadlines, and adapt to fast-paced project environments.
